How to Create a Confident Competitor

ConfidentEveryone knows the importance self-confidence plays in delivering a peak performance, or in living up to one's potential. We also know how fragile self-confidence can be, especially for young athletes. However many parents are not aware of the role they play in building and maintaining a child's confidence. This workshop addresses the foundations of your child's self-belief and teaches you a powerful strategy for helping your child take charge of personal self-confidence in every situation.

How to Create a Focused Competitor

FocusedOnce self-confidence is in place, the next obstacle for any athlete is the willingness and the ability to stay focused on the right thing at the right time. Once again, parents can be powerful mentors and facilitators of concentration skills, or they can accidently make this skill nearly impossible. This session will provide you with specific tools and techniques for enhancing your child's focus, and self-management skills that improve performance.

How to Create a Fearless Competitor

FearlessWe often see the consequences of fear in a young athlete's performance, but it is more difficult to help children manage the fear they feel. While the source of fear can be dramatic - like the fear of injury, or more subtle - like the fear of disappointing someone, knowing how to address this issue is important for parents. In this workshop you'll learn the role you play in creating fear, relieving fear, and teaching your child strategies for managing fear.

To Push or Not to Push

FearlessThere is a theory that to have a great athlete there must be one pushy/crazy parent! Research on the topic suggests that an appropriate and healthy push can be successful in some cases, but done incorrectly leaves emotional and relationship scares on young athletes. We'll look at the short-term and the long-term impact of providing your child with a "push", as well as the four primary elements that make the difference between success and failure.

How Credible Parents Create Confident Kids
and Keep Their Jobs

FearlessBalancing the high demands of work life with a child's athletic life poses a tremendous challenge for most parents. Conflicting work schedules, demanding coaches, and ambitious dreams collide on the home front as parents attempt to meet all requests at work and avoid all guilt at the ball field. Is it possible? Surprisingly, there are some answers that provide not only peace of mind, but the pursuit of excellence for all concerned. There are critical choices to be made, and in this session we'll teach you solid strategies for making those choices and embracing the consequences.

How Credible Coaches
Create Confident Competitors

FearlessTo be remembered as the coach that helped a child win on his athletic journey is one of the most fulfilling experiences for a coach. However to be remembered as the coach that helped a child win on his life journey is even more significant. This is the difference between a good coach and a great coach. This workshop explores questions and provides answers to some of the most critical issues in influencing young men and women athletes, not just for a season...but for life.
